The Muse at Brecon is a venture centred at the Old Museum, Glamorgan Street. The ground floor space is perfect for music, dancing, meeting, talks, art and mischief. We are open to all suggestions and are available for private functions. The first floor is home to Rebound Books, of L'Arche Brecon and has potential for further workshop spaces to be developed.
Built in 1837 as a Congregationalist chapel it later became the town museum. When the museum was relocated along the street to the Shire Hall the building was used as a workshop and stores for some years. It finally fell from people's awareness and into disrepair. Now privately owned, we want it to be used again and to continue to inspire, educate and amuse. The long term aim is for it to be run by the people who use it.
If you are looking for somewhere unique, characterful and central for an EVENT, CLASS or IDEA, then please get in touch. You can check us out on Facebook @ The Muse at Brecon.
