Catisfield Memorial Hall is situated just outside of Fareham, Hampshire in a quiet rural location. The hall is light and airy and used for regular activity groups: Arts and Creative, Fitness, Gardening, Social events, Dance classes and children's groups and for one-off events such as children’s parties, wedding receptions, christenings, birthday parties, charity events, club meetings, and much more.
Large Main Hall
Our fully refurbished main hall caters for around 100 guests, standing or seated theatre-style, or 90 guests with tables and a fully equipped kitchen. This makes it ideal for children’s parties and adult celebrations, clubs and associations. The main hall also comes with a hearing loop, an amplifier with 2 radio microphones, and a screen for use with projectors. We also have Wifi. We do not have a licensed bar but guests are welcome to bring their own drinks and glasses to events, if agreed with the organiser.
Catisfield Memorial Hall Background and History
The Memorial hall was established in 1947 on land donated by Samuel Mortimer as a memorial to those residents of Catisfield who had lost their lives during the Second World War. The Deed of Gift refers to the provision of a facility for the benefit of the people of Catisfield. The original Hall was a Government surplus hut from Corhampton Down. This was replaced by the present brick building in 1962, financed by the sale of part of the Hall’s land, fronting what is now Catisfield Lane.
The Hall was established as a registered charity with Trustees and a life president who for many years was a member of the Mortimer family.
The Hall was extensively refurbished in 2010/11 under the guidance of its then chairman and now life president, Penny Melville-Brown.
Availability and Hire Costs
Availability: The hall is available to hire 365 days a year.
Hire Costs: Regular users cost from £10.50 / hour One off bookings cost £18.50 with a minimum booking of 3 hours and requires a deposit of £150
