The Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham has several options for hire. The entire visitor centre can be hired for larger events. The Lakeside Room at the end of the building is available for courses, workshops, parties, wakes and meetings. The room seats up to 50 in a theatre layout, or 30 at tables. There is a small patio area outside and the bright, airy room looks over the lake.
An alternative space for hire is the outdoor "Hutch", an open-sided shelter in an enclosed space next to the toddler's playpark, with benches for picnics.
The visitor centre has a cafe and small shop, and is located next to Thatcham Lake and near the important Thatcham Reedbeds. It is located on several bus routes and has a large, free car-park.
Availability and Hire Costs
Availability: Weekdays and weekends. Daytime 9am - 4.30pm. Evenings by arrangement.
Hire Costs: £35 per hour, minimum 2 hours. £80 half-day £150 full-day Additional cost for evenings/out of normal opening hours.
